ENDOSCOPY QUIZ PAGE JANUARY

Picture Quiz - Image of the month January 2004 (Now Closed - See below for answer)

* This appearance was caused by an air space within the injection catheter, during the musosal lift the air from within catheter was transferred to the mucosal space. This has unsurprisingly been termed the 'Frost Sign'.

Unfortunately no correct answers were submitted for the January quiz, better luck next time.

Can you correctly identify the cause of the white mucosal appearance noted in the upper right hand quandrant of the endoscopic picture?

Background information:

This appearance was observed during endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) of an 8mm polyp in the caecum.
