A multidisciplinary meeting of the small bowel for Gastroenterologists, Radiologists & Surgeons
St Mark's Hospital, London - Friday 24th April 2009
I would like to invite you to the first symposium in the UK to focus on the small bowel. Traditionally the 'poor cousin' of the gastrointestinal tract despite being its longest part, new advances in endoscopy, radiology and surgery now allow clinicians to evaluate and treat a wide variety of small bowel diseases and disorders more effectively than ever before.
Interactive presentations will be provided by a group of specialists who are experts in their fields of interest, ranging from capsule endoscopy and balloon enteroscopy through to CT and MR enterography and advanced open and laparoscopic small bowel surgical techniques.
The use of these complementary techniques to investigate and treat the small bowel and the interaction between specialities to ensure patients are cared for in an appropriate fashion will be one of the themes of the symposium.
The symposium is multidisciplinary in nature and is aimed at those with a developing and existing interest in the small bowel including gastroenterologists, endoscopists, GI radiologists, upper and lower GI surgeons, gastroenterology and surgical trainees, endoscopy and theatre nurses and radiographers.
If you have an interesting case you would like to discuss, please get in touch (for full details click on the link below). Alternatively, you can bring along a short video or Powerpoint slide which can then be presented during the symposium.
The venue for the symposium will be at St Mark's Hospital and on behalf of the faculty I look forward to seeing you here for what I hope will be an interesting and enjoyable meeting.
