Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopy Workshop 2008

This one day course is aimed at endoscopists, nurses, managers and administrative staff. We will give you an overview of how to set up and run a successful bowel cancer screening centre and update you on the screening programme. Basic Therapeutic Endoscopy Course 2008

The new Basic Therapeutic Endoscopy Course (BTEC) is an updated course combined with a research study to improve training in therapeutic endoscopy. As a national training centre the Wolfson Unit for Endoscopy is able to offer a variety of courses tailored to meet the educational requirements of clinicians with various levels of expertise.
The unit runs regular training weeks. Registrars learn basic colonoscopy technique and more experienced consultants have the opportunity to improve their skills in colonoscopy and therapeutic interventions. We utilise the latest teaching aids such as computer simulation and magnetic endoscope imaging and all trainees have access to state of the art teaching CD's & DVD-ROMS.
We also run one-day colonoscopy workshops which cover key areas of the procedure such as insertion technique, how to avoid complications, lesion detection & common therapeutic interventions. These days include, mini-lectures, Q & A sessions, endoscopy quiz and live demonstrations.
