How are patients referred?
- By GP or consultant letter
- As an emergency transfer from another hospital
- Via accident and emergency at Northwick Park Hospital
Under the patient's charter, every patient has the right to a second opinion. St. Mark's is able to provide this. If you wish to be referred to us for a second opinion, please discuss this with your GP.
Please remember that we require a new referral letter from your GP if you have not attended for over a year and are not part of a follow up programme. On receipt of a referral letter we will issue you with a new appointment and you will be notified of this by post.
PLEASE REMEMBERThe hospital is continually striving to improve all aspects of the services which it provides for patients. It would therefore be most helpful if you could:
Keep to your appointment time and inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend to that your appointment can be offered to someone else.
Inform us if you change address or change your GP.
Inform us of any inconvenient dates for your endoscopy examination.
Confirm as soon as possible after receiving your appointment letter, whether or not you are able to come for your endoscopy on that date.
